The Government of Pakistan declared 2009 as the National Year of Environment and achieved a Guinness Book of World record for planting the maximum number of trees in a single day. Following this international feat, the President of Pakistan declared 18th August 2009 as the National Tree Planting Day. Thus, to mark the Green day, PTC joined hands with NHA and MoE to support the tree planting drive by inviting the citizens to make their contribution to green along the vast motorway. The day also hosted an exclusive ceremony on the motorway attended by the chairman senate, Mr. Farooq H Naik and the secretary Environment , Mr. Kamran Lashari co-hosted by the MD of PTC, Mr. Nicholas Hayes. DM branded and managed for this packed congregation of over 500 guests and friends of environment on this historic day along the motorway.
